LaVelda Fann is an American actress and former beauty-pageant figure who became widely known through her work in television and film and her long marriage to actor Robert Conrad. While Conrad was famous for roles in The Wild Wild West, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and numerous television productions, Fann developed a public identity of her own. Her acting credits include Sworn to Vengeance, Search and Rescue, High Sierra Search and Rescue, and Dead Above Ground. She was also involved in entertainment production and later maintained a much quieter life away from Hollywood.
Interest in LaVelda Fann continues because of several parts of her story: her early life in Alabama, her reported success in the Miss National Teenager pageant, her marriage to Robert Conrad, their three daughters, and her acting career during the 1990s. Public information about her later years is more limited, however, which has resulted in conflicting claims across biography websites. The most reliable entertainment databases identify her as LaVelda Ione Fann, born August 16, 1960, in the United States, with Gadsden, Alabama, frequently listed as her birthplace.
Who Is LaVelda Fann?
LaVelda Fann is best known as an American actress and the former wife of Robert Conrad. She worked in television and film, appearing in several productions during the 1990s and early 2000s. Her professional credits show that she was more than simply a celebrity spouse. IMDb identifies her as an actress and additional crew member, with acting credits that include Sworn to Vengeance, Search and Rescue, High Sierra Search and Rescue, and Dead Above Ground.
Fann’s full name is LaVelda Ione Fann, and she has also been associated with the names LaVelda Conrad and the nickname Lala. Entertainment databases list her date of birth as August 16, 1960, and her birthplace as Gadsden, Alabama. Based on that birth date, she is 66 years old in 2026. Her height is commonly listed as approximately 5 feet 8 inches, although physical statistics are less important to understanding her career than her work in entertainment and her family history.
LaVelda Fann Early Life and Background
Public records provide relatively little detailed information about LaVelda Fann’s childhood. Major entertainment databases consistently identify her as being born in 1960 and connect her with Gadsden, Alabama, but information about her parents, education, childhood experiences, and early ambitions is not extensively documented. This is an important distinction because numerous biography websites publish detailed personal information without clearly identifying where those claims originated.
One of the more notable elements of Fann’s early public profile was her connection to beauty-pageant competition. IMDb’s biographical material identifies her as Miss National Teenager of 1978. This pageant background helps explain how she first became associated with public appearances before moving into acting and entertainment. Rather than treating every later online claim about her childhood as established fact, the available evidence supports a more cautious picture: she was an Alabama-born young woman who gained public recognition through pageantry before developing connections with the entertainment industry.
LaVelda Fann and the Miss National Teenager Title
LaVelda Fann’s reported Miss National Teenager title is an important part of her early biography. IMDb’s trivia record specifically lists her as Miss National Teenager of 1978. Pageants during this period provided young women with opportunities to gain public exposure, travel, develop presentation skills, and establish contacts that could sometimes lead toward modeling or entertainment careers. For Fann, the pageant connection became an early part of the public identity that eventually developed into an acting career.
The pageant history is also useful because it shows that Fann had a public profile before she became associated with Robert Conrad. Some modern articles focus almost entirely on her marriage and describe her as Conrad’s former wife, but that framing leaves out an important part of her own story. Her entertainment career and pageant background existed independently of her relationship with Conrad, even though her marriage later became one of the most searched aspects of her biography.
LaVelda Fann’s Acting Career
Fann’s acting career became particularly visible during the 1990s. Her filmography includes Sworn to Vengeance from 1993, Search and Rescue from 1994, and the television series High Sierra Search and Rescue, which aired in 1995. She was also credited in Dead Above Ground in 2002. These appearances established her as a working actress, although she never reached the same level of mainstream fame as her husband. IMDb identifies her roles in Sworn to Vengeance as Wanda Monroe and in Search and Rescue as Lisa, while she played Lisa in High Sierra Search and Rescue.
Her career is interesting because much of it was connected with television productions rather than the large theatrical films that dominated Hollywood publicity. High Sierra Search and Rescue, in particular, placed her in an action-adventure television environment built around emergency rescue work. Film databases also list her involvement in Mario and the Mob and The Duke, although databases differ in how they classify individual credits and dates. The surviving filmography nevertheless confirms that acting was a genuine part of Fann’s professional life rather than simply an incidental activity associated with her marriage.
LaVelda Fann and Robert Conrad’s Marriage
LaVelda Fann’s relationship with Robert Conrad is one of the most frequently searched parts of her biography. Conrad was already an established television star, particularly known for his role as James West in The Wild Wild West, when their relationship developed. According to biographical records, Fann and Conrad married in 1977. Sources differ over certain details surrounding the beginning of their relationship, but the marriage is consistently documented as an important part of Fann’s life.
The couple had a substantial age difference, which attracted public attention throughout their relationship. Contemporary and retrospective accounts commonly state that Fann was 17 when they married and Conrad was in his forties. A 2006 photograph and accompanying biographical note from Who2 also identifies them as husband and wife at a Writers Guild Foundation event and records their marriage as beginning in 1977. Their relationship lasted for decades, although they ultimately divorced in 2010.
LaVelda Fann and Her Children
LaVelda Fann and Robert Conrad had three daughters: Kaja Conrad, Camille Conrad, and Chelsea Conrad. IMDb’s biographical and trivia information gives their birth years as 1983, 1985, and 1987 respectively. Fann also became stepmother to Conrad’s children from his first marriage, making the family considerably larger than the three daughters she shared with him.
Her daughters also had connections to the entertainment world. Camille Conrad, for example, is credited with appearances connected to productions including Jesse Hawkes and High Sierra Search and Rescue. IMDb identifies Camille as the daughter of Robert Conrad and LaVelda Fann and as the middle sister of Kaja and Chelsea. This connection shows how entertainment remained part of the wider family environment, even though LaVelda herself eventually maintained a more private public presence.
LaVelda Fann’s Life Beyond Acting
Although acting is the most easily documented part of LaVelda Fann’s professional history, available records indicate that she was also involved in entertainment-related business activity. IMDb’s biography notes that she was the owner of FannHaven Productions, LLC, in Los Angeles. This detail suggests that her professional interests extended beyond appearing in front of the camera and included production or business activity within the entertainment industry.
Fann’s career therefore cannot be accurately reduced to her role as Robert Conrad’s wife. She participated in pageantry, worked as an actress, appeared in television productions, and was associated with a production company. At the same time, there is not enough reliable public information to construct a complete timeline of every professional project she undertook. Claims found on low-quality biography websites about unrelated careers, specific educational achievements, or elaborate business ventures should be treated cautiously because they conflict with the established entertainment records.
LaVelda Fann’s Life After Robert Conrad
LaVelda Fann and Robert Conrad eventually divorced in 2010 after many years of marriage. Conrad continued to have a public presence during his later years, while Fann largely stayed away from entertainment publicity. Who2’s biographical record identifies Conrad’s second marriage to Fann as lasting from 1983 until their divorce in 2010, although other established entertainment records list their marriage beginning in 1977. The conflicting dates illustrate why precise relationship timelines should be handled carefully when different databases disagree.
After the divorce, Fann’s public profile became even quieter. IMDb’s trivia information has described her as living in Bear Valley, California, a community in the High Sierra, although current residence information should not be assumed to remain unchanged simply because an older database record reports it. Her later life is not extensively covered by major entertainment publications, and there is no strong evidence that she has actively sought celebrity attention in recent years. Her preference for privacy is one of the defining characteristics of her post-Hollywood public image.
LaVelda Fann Age, Net Worth, and Current Status
LaVelda Fann was born on August 16, 1960, making her 66 years old in 2026. Her birthplace is commonly given as Gadsden, Alabama. These details are supported by multiple entertainment and biographical databases, including IMDb and Filmweb. Her age is therefore considerably better documented than some other personal details frequently published online.
Questions about LaVelda Fann’s net worth are much harder to answer responsibly. Unlike major Hollywood stars whose earnings, property transactions, production deals, and public financial records may be widely reported, Fann has maintained a low public profile. There is no authoritative public financial statement establishing her personal net worth, so precise figures found on celebrity-wealth websites should not be presented as fact. The same caution applies to claims about her exact current occupation or residence. What can be said with confidence is that she had an acting career, entertainment-related business involvement, and a long connection to Robert Conrad’s family.
LaVelda Fann’s Legacy and Public Interest
LaVelda Fann remains interesting because her life connects several different worlds: beauty pageants, television acting, entertainment production, family life, and Hollywood history. She is remembered in entertainment databases for her acting work, particularly her appearances in Sworn to Vengeance, Search and Rescue, High Sierra Search and Rescue, and Dead Above Ground. At the same time, her decades-long marriage to Robert Conrad has made her a recurring subject of searches about the actor’s personal life.
Her story also demonstrates why celebrity biographies need to distinguish between public records and internet speculation. Fann’s documented career is relatively modest but genuine, while many online articles attempt to fill gaps in her biography with unsupported details. The most reliable portrait is of an Alabama-born actress and former pageant figure who developed a career in television, raised three daughters with Robert Conrad, participated in entertainment-related business, and eventually chose a quieter life away from the spotlight.
Conclusion: The Story of LaVelda Fann
LaVelda Fann has lived a life that combines entertainment, family, and privacy. Born in 1960 in Alabama, she gained early recognition through pageantry and later developed an acting career that included television movies and series. Her credits in Sworn to Vengeance, Search and Rescue, High Sierra Search and Rescue, and Dead Above Ground demonstrate that she had a legitimate place within the entertainment industry beyond her connection to Robert Conrad.
Her marriage to Robert Conrad became a major part of her public story, and together they raised three daughters: Kaja, Camille, and Chelsea. Although their relationship eventually ended in divorce, the family connection remains an important part of Conrad’s biography as well as Fann’s. Her later decision to remain largely private has meant that fewer details about her current life are available, but that privacy should be respected rather than replaced with speculation.
Ultimately, LaVelda Fann is more than simply Robert Conrad’s former wife. She was a pageant titleholder, actress, mother, and entertainment professional who experienced Hollywood from several different perspectives. Her story may not contain the constant publicity associated with major movie stars, but that quieter path is precisely what makes her biography distinctive. The documented facts provide a picture of a woman who participated in entertainment while maintaining a strong connection to family and, eventually, a more private life beyond the cameras.
